Privacy Policy

Last updated Nov. 4, 2026

This policy explains, in plain terms, what information the NYSCALA website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who We Are

This website, nyscala.com, is run by the Citywide Association of Law Assistants of the Civil, Criminal and Family Courts in the City of New York (“NYSCALA,” “we,” or “us”). For more details about anything in this policy, contact us using the information at the end of this page.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account registration. When you request a member account, we collect details such as your name, contact information, membership status, and where you work, along with a username and password. Passwords are stored in encrypted form.
  • Contact form. When you send us a message, we collect your name, contact information, and your message.
  • Basic technical data. Like most websites, our website and its service providers automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This helps keep the website secure and working.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To review, approve, and manage member accounts.
  • To give approved members access to members-only pages and documents.
  • To respond to your messages and questions.
  • To send members updates about the Association, such as news about benefits, contracts, and events. You can opt out using the link at the bottom of those emails.
  • To keep the website secure and protect our forms from spam and misuse.
  • To meet legal requirements.

4. Where Your Information Is Stored

Member and contact information is stored securely in our website and in the Tricomm Member Hub / CRM, which our website provider operates for us.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • with service providers that run our website and the Tricomm Member Hub / CRM for us;
  • with the Association’s benefit funds, where needed to provide member benefits; and
  • when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NYSCALA, our members, or others.

6. Cookies and Your Choices

When you first visit, a banner asks for your permission before we use any optional cookies. You can choose Accept all, Decline, or Customize. Until you choose, we use only necessary cookies. We honor Global Privacy Control signals from your browser, and we remember your choice for 180 days. To change your choice at any time, select the cookie icon at the bottom left of any page.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, but only if you allow analytics cookies. We use Google Consent Mode, so if you have not agreed, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives only basic signals without cookies.

Google reCAPTCHA helps protect our forms from spam. For the full list of cookies, see our Cookie Policy.

7. Benefit and Medical Information

Information about your benefits, including medical information, is handled by the union’s benefit funds under their own privacy notices. Members can find more information on the Benefits page, or contact us.

8. Other Websites

This website links to websites run by others, such as benefit providers and online registration forms. Information you give those websites is handled under their own privacy policies.

9. How We Protect Your Information

This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and members-only pages and documents open only for approved members who are logged in. We use security measures to protect the website and the information in it. No website can be completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Children’s Privacy
